MERGER ANNOUCEMENT

 

It is with much excitement that we announce the merger between First Service Corporation, a Michigan based insurance agency and Unitas Financial Services, LLC, an Ohio based insurance agency.

FSC has been serving the financial institution industry since 1964, providing best-in-class customer service and top-rated insurance programs to Lender clients and their borrowers. With the future of our agency and clients in mind, FSC made the decision to join forces with Unitas, an industry leading provider of compliant risk management solutions and other specialty insurance programs.

The merger between the two organizations will allow us to better service our clients and expand our access to carriers, technology and specialty programs. The better news is that with the talent, industry knowledge, and carrier access that comes with our combined organizations, we will be able to provide you with a more diverse, creative, and extensive lineup of products and services.


What does this mean for clients of FSC?

For our FSC clients, we look forward to continuing our partnership well into the future! The biggest change to expect is seeing a new logo and email address. We will slowly integrate the Unitas name and logo on correspondence to our clients. Our FSC staff will still be your main point of contact. What about the programs we have with FSC?

The programs your institution utilizes through FSC will not change. Both FSC and Unitas offer and service the same programs, making it a seamless transition for your team. As with any merger, there are minor changes that may take place but these will not happen overnight. Our goal is to make this as seamless as possible while still providing the highest level of customer service. We will also have access to new programs that your institution might find interesting. We’ve put additional information on these programs below.

  • Provides coverage on a lender’s entire mortgage portfolio for property damage and is an alternative for force-placed mortgage hazard insurance. The policy eliminates the need to track insurance after loan close on Residential properties. In addition, the policy eliminates the need to send out negative warning letters and force-place coverage.

  • Vendor’s Single Interest provides coverage on a lender’s consumer loan portfolio from uninsured losses to repossessed or unrecoverable collateral. All new and existing loans are automatically covered at policy inception. The policy eliminates the need to track and force-place insurance after loan closing, and skip tracing services help locate missing collateral.

  • Relieves a financial institution of the time and effort spent tracking insurance, sending notifications and force-placing coverage on residential and commercial loans. Provides a compliant and secure solution to confirming all of your institutions collateral has sufficient insurance coverage.

  • Protequity is designed to help lenders extend their reach to capture additional creditworthy clientele. Allowing lenders to increase loan production in traditional equity-based lending programs. The program is intended to mitigate the effects of borrower default, improving the performance metrics of a lender’s home equity portfolio. With the support of Protequity, lending programs can be customized to reach 100% LTV thresholds.

  • Financial institutions can utilize our Lender-Placed Insurance program to place instant coverage on properties they have an interest in if a mortgagors’ insurance policy has lapsed, cancelled or the financial institution deems the homeowners’ insurance to be insufficient.
